Determining the condition of the subgrade or base is critical. Without a solid and stable foundation, the asphalt applied to the driveway—regardless of quality or thickness—will lead to cracking, settling, potholes, and water accumulation, compromising the structure and longevity of the new driveway.
For this reason, Circle One Paving evaluates the subgrade’s resilience to support the structural weight of the sub-base and asphalt. Once the bearing capacity is confirmed and any necessary improvements are made, the next phase begins.
The next step is the sub-base installation, a critical element for a long-lasting driveway. Using a commercial-grade crushed stone mix optimized for our climate ensures a strong, stable foundation. The sub-base material is applied and compacted, providing additional structural integrity.
Our premium asphalt—recognized as top-tier commercial quality—is the final layer. It is applied over the sub-base with an adhesive bonding agent, creating a monolithic cohesion between the two layers.
